1134’ – The Album
Gtown Desi finally deliver their long awaited, debut album, “11:34”.
The album itself is a definitive fusion of Urban and Asian genres drawing on each member’s individual influences. Bhangra, Breakbeat, Bashment and R’n’B all feature strongly as the group aim to filter through Asian influenced music with a touch of Urban throughout the 13 track production. The debut single, ‘Peerh’ was instantly picked up on by the BBC Asian Network (playlist) as well as Radio 1 as the Breakbeat/Bhangra smash caught the attention of DJ’s across all levels.
Friction featured the act as ‘artist of the week’ playing cuts from the album across the week during his BBC Asian Network show. Scotland’s own Vic Galloway also featured ‘Peerh’ during BBC Introducing in Scotland. Zane Lowe then dropped the follow up radio single, ‘Lok Tath’ during his on air battle with Nihal on Radio 1.
Zane Lowe (Radio 1) - ‘All sorts of influences put together brilliantly’
The debut video for ‘Peerh’ aired across Brit Asia and has recently made its way across You Tube. Shot within Glasgow’s gritty urban setting, the production is a direct reflection of the group’s cultural influence featuring an entire Glasgow based cast choreographed by a former Destiny’s Child affiliate.
Artists which feature on the album include Nikitta (X-Factor), as well as Kobi Onyame (BBC 1xtra), Charlene, Gift & Miss Elii representing the Scottish acts. A host of international artists bless the remainder stretching from Australia to India.

The NYD 2012 Party || Balwinder Safri Live
Gtown Desi returns for the 5th year running with their official opening to the New Year with 'The New Year's Day Party 2012!'
This year, we decided to do something different. Rather than bring current acts, we decided to do something 'old skool' (keeping with the routine of being different). Gtown Desi present to Glasgow, for the FIRST time ever, a true legend.....Balwinder Safri....
Safri will be live on stage performing his hit singles which have filled the dancefloors from the '90s to this very day - Tunes such as 'Rahey Rahey', 'Chan Mera Makhana', 'Pao Bhangra', 'Par Nigada' and many more....
Alongside Safri, we bring back our London boy, Mr Cas, who will be hosting the evening from start to finish, keeping the movement on the dancefloor electrical with his vocals on the mic and Gtown Desi DJs on the decks...
As tradition goes, we will also have PHD alongside us performing their Dhol and Pipes set to mark the official New Year... This year we have something slightly different planned though.....Watch this space!!!
So now you have the details, make sure you contact one of the Gtown Desi Members and get yourself a ticket. As always, ticket-holders get priority entry, so save yourself from missing any of the party (and waiting outside) and get your tickets now!!
Have a listen to an exclusive Safri Remix produced by Bobby B;
Gtown Desi returns with the last and final chapter of ‘Secrets’…..
Over the past 3 years, Gtown Desi has been responsible for placing together an exclusive invite-only night known as ‘Secrets’.Our aim from the start was to host such a party where people can come and enjoy themselves without the thoughts of events which occur at the so called ‘Bhangra’.We wanted to get away from the ‘Bhangra’ label but rather launch something that was stylish and unrelated with the nostalgia of ‘Bhangra’.
Since the start, with the help from all the people that have supported us from Day 1, we have seen our events grow and achieve our goal of creating tasteful parties... What was initially started off as a party thrown by Gtown Desi, soon became a gathering of close friends….
Many memories exist for us, as we would hope they would for you too, ranging from the 1st Secret in Mine Bar as the Valentines Party to the Masquerade Ball in Brunswick Hotel; the Dinner Dance at Assams we threw for our 1st Birthday Party; The Charity Ball for Yorkhill Children’s Hospital; Secrets in London with attendees from Glasgow, most recently, the nights in the Penthouse of Hummingbird, and how could we forget the road blocking ‘White Night’?
We have finally reached the 10th Secret, ‘The Final Chapter’.This will be the biggest Secret to date. We will be going all out to make sure the last impression of Secrets we leave with you will not be forgotten. To make it extra special, we have ventured into a new, stunning venue just to add that additional touch. There will also be plenty of Secrets revealed on the night to all guests…
What’s the theme this time? Well, we thought we would go for simple yet classy, Black dress, Black Tie attire.
Lastly, we would like to say a big Thank you to all who have supported us and attended the Secrets parties.Without you guys, Secrets would never have been what it is… So now, make sure you email us back with your guestlist and get your name down to celebrate the last Chapter, Secrets X……
